Recycling

The City of Thomson operates the Recycling Center located at 863 Augusta Highway, Thomson, GA. It is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Any City or County resident may drop off recyclables during normal business hours. There are larger containers positioned outside the fenced area for residents, both City and County, who may need to drop off recyclables during the weekend.

For residents who live inside the City Limits and in Dearing, curbside recyclable pickup is available once per week, usually on the same day that residential garbage pickup is scheduled. After recyclable pickup, containers should be removed from street side and not left curbside overnight. This service is included in the monthly sanitation bill. Again, additional recyclables may also be dropped off by City or County residents at the recycling center.

If a resident chooses to bring recyclables to the center, any sorting by material type is preferred and helps hold down costs.
