A Message from Our Director

Thomson-McDuffie Recreation Department provides and maintains quality parks, facilities, and recreational activities with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment for girls, boys, adults and seniors.

Our scheduled year-round activities are governed by the Georgia Recreation & Parks Association. The department is governed by the McDuffie County Board of Commissioners with an appointed Board of Advisors representing the county as well in the cities of Thomson and Dearing.

The department publicizes activities through our program guide, social media, The McDuffie Progress, WTHO-FM, and WTWA-AM radio. We also coordinate with our local school system to avoid conflicts of interest and scheduling of shared facilities. Thomson-McDuffie County does not discriminate against age, sex, race, creed, or religious belief in activities or services offered.
