“It is the mission of the Employees of McDuffie County to provide honest, sincere and dedicated service to the citizens of the county; to foster an atmosphere of commitment in assisting, aiding and implementing those services which benefit the county as a whole; to show no partiality in providing any service; and to promote the spirit of cooperation in all departments.”

“Through professionalism, dedication, integrity and training the McDuffie County Fire Rescue Services works to safeguard the lives and property and to enhance the quality of life of the people of McDuffie County. This will be accomplished by providing a vast range of emergency services, strong public relations and fire and life safety education. We also endeavor to protect and preserve the health of our membership and return our personnel safely to their families”

McDuffie County Fire and Rescue Services are guided by these mission statements as we provide fire protection and other services to the citizens of the unincorporated areas of McDuffie County.

Our response area is approximately 230 square miles. We provide services to 17,000 citizens. Our immediate and automatic aid risks include two mainline railroads with several road crossings and three major highway crossings, an airport with a 5000 foot runway designated as a secondary emergency landing strip for civilian and military aircraft, a military air traffic control beacon, multiple commercial cell towers, 128 miles of State and Federal highways, 261 miles of paved county maintained roads and 106 miles of dirt roads, several ammonium nitrate farm storage facilities, grain silos, and several thousand acres of forest and open fields. There are two critical pipelines through our coverage area that supply the majority of Natural Gas and Liquid Propane gas southward to the entire east coast of Georgia and Florida. We operate out of six fire stations located throughout the county staffed with full time, part time and paid per call employees.

It is both a tremendous responsibility and a great honor to serve this community. It is our duty to remain ready and able to respond to calls for assistance from the public at all times and I credit a great team of men and women, both career and volunteer, for their unwavering commitment and dedication to service that make it possible for this department to meet that challenge.
